Hello all,

I just purchased a 2010 Bird with a big bore kit and the dealer told me it's 1800cc.

I know nothing about these bikes but I know a bit about motorcycles.

My question is about fuel.

The long test ride (45 minutes on both highway at 110-120km/h and city riding at 50km/h stop and go)yielded no drivability issues.

After parking it in the garage and re-starting it, the idle is below 1000 rpms and the bike struggles to hold it steady.

If it is an 1800 kit, would there have been a tune flashed to the ECU and would the bike need higher than 91 octane?
It's from a Shell station here in Canada.

The service history says it had a throttle body replacement (have to double check but it think it was for MAP issues)

Another unrelated question I have comes after swapping in an LED headlight. The headlight works great but I had two single terminal connectors left over that would have gone to the lower connection on the OEM headlight. Is it okay to just leave those taped off or should I be doing something with them?

Thanks in advance

Welcome aboard!
Didn't know there was an 1800 kit, but others here will know. 1700?
More octane the better, but anything above 90 should be fine. Idle is closer to 2K.

The extra pigtail in headlight bucket is parking lamp, always on with ignition. Great power source for a dash cam.

...way to go Lee, leave the kid alone. At least MotorMac was more diplomatic.
